Frequently Asked Questions

What do I wear?

The key to selecting the best clothing for your family session is to make sure that the colors blend well with each other. The colors don’t have to match but matching the colors can be the easiest way of knowing that the clothing will flow in the image. It is best to stay away from big bold prints. You want the eye to look at you not a flashy wardrobe. If selecting to use different colors, be sure to stay in the same tone theme. ie: fall colors or jewel colors.

Remember:

Do a double check for spots on clothing, exaggerated wrinkles, etc.

It’s always good to have an extra change of clothes for the little ones.

Bring a brush, extra hair items for little girls just in case.

Can I bring props?

Absolutely. This can be a great way to express who you are. Hats, sports equipment, special stuffed animal or toys for children or a sign can be a fun addition to any portrait.

Can I bring a pet?

Sure. However, let’s talk about it before hand. Animals on location may get nervous in unfamiliar surroundings. Consider bringing someone else along to care for the animal during the time your furry friend isn’t in the picture.

What is included in the session fee?

Based on the time selected, you will receive a set number of fully edited digital images to download.

How long will it take before I get my digital photos?

It depends on the time of year and the number of people in your session but it usually takes one to two weeks to receive your digital images.

Can you suggest a location for my session?

Yes. I have scouted out many locations in the greater Sacramento area. Once we discuss the look you want to achieve, I will suggest several locations for you to select from.

Do you work with a hair and makeup stylist?

While I don’t have a stylist on site, I can recommend someone for you to consider using before our session.

Can I have more than one location?

Yes. Based on the package you select, we can move locations to give you a couple different looks.

Keep the jewelry fairly simple.

Do not wear jewelry that will be a distraction. Do not wear bulky jewelry with the idea that it will cover up patchy skin or wrinkles.
